Notification settings

How to choose which notices reach you and where — in the app, by email, by push or on Bupple Line — for each workspace, and how alert banners behave.

Video coming soon

The tutorial for this chapter is being recorded. The guide below covers everything in the meantime.

Notification settings decide what each workspace tells you, and where. They are yours: an admin cannot change them for you, and each workspace you belong to keeps its own set. To open them, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Account › Notifications. On the Updates page, Notification settings in the sidebar opens the same page.

Notification settings with a channel for each group

Groups and channels

Notices come in groups: Mentions, Files & processing, Activity, Billing, Analytics alerts, System and Security. Each group's row names the first few notices in it.

  • On or Muted switches the whole group.
  • The channel buttons pick where it reaches you: In app, Email, Push, and Line when Bupple Line is available.
  • Email is offered only for groups that have notices worth an email. With email on, the row lists which notices are emailed. The top of the page says the address mail goes to.

Workspace invitations are always emailed to the invited address.

Push

Push notices reach your browser or phone even when Bupple is closed. Your browser asks for permission the first time Bupple has something worth pushing, for example when you open Updates or start a generation. The Turn on notifications step in Get set up asks too. If you said no, turn them on in your browser's site settings.

Bupple Line

With Bupple Line connected, notices marked Line arrive in your messaging app. Until it is connected, the page says nothing goes there yet. Each messaging app you connected has its own switch, Send my notifications here, in the Bupple Line page.

Alert banners

A warning or an error shows a small banner in the top-right corner until you close it. Under Alert banners, Close banners on a timer makes banners fade after a few seconds instead. The alert stays unread in your notifications either way. This choice follows you into every workspace.

  • Notifications — the Updates panel and page, and what each notice means.
  • Workspaces — each workspace keeps its own notification settings.
