Platform 101

A tour of Bupple for marketers — workspaces and brands, the sidebar and every app in it, credits, keyboard keys, and where each chapter goes deeper.

Video coming soon

The tutorial for this chapter is being recorded. The guide below covers everything in the meantime.

Bupple is one place to plan, make, publish and measure your brand's content. You ask the Superagent for work in plain words, and it uses the rest of the platform to do it: your Brand Kit, your Media Library, the tools that make pictures, videos and designs, and the tools that schedule posts and read how they did. This introduction shows you how the pieces fit together. Each chapter after it walks through one part of the app, screen by screen.

Workspaces and brands

Everything in Bupple lives in a workspace. A workspace is your team's home: it has its own brands, files, members, credits and apps. Most teams have one. An agency might have one per client. You can belong to more than one, and you switch between them from the profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar.

Inside a workspace you have one or more brands. A brand is the company, product or client you make content for. You always work in one brand at a time. Its name is shown at the top of the sidebar. When you switch brand, the whole app switches with it: the Media Library, chats, videos, scheduled posts and everything else show that brand's work.

So the order is simple: a workspace holds brands, and a brand holds the work. Getting set up shows how to switch both.

The sidebar

The sidebar on the left is how you move around Bupple. Its rows are grouped by what they are for.

The Bupple sidebar with its groups numbered

  1. The brand switcher. The brand you are working in. Click it to pick another brand, add a brand or manage your brands.
  2. Find. One search box for the whole app. Type the name of an app, a brand, a workspace, a theme or a setting, and it takes you there. It also finds your chats.
  3. Dashboard and Superagent. The Dashboard is the home page, with the Get set up steps and how your brand is doing. The Superagent is the chat that can do almost anything on the platform for you.
  4. Library — Brand Kit and Media Library. What your brand is and what it owns.
  5. Content — Campaigns and Automations. How you organize and repeat work.
  6. Social — Posts, Analytics and Inbox. Publishing, results and conversations.
  7. Create — Imagine, Video Editor and Design Editor. Making new pictures, videos and sound.
  8. Integrations. Extra apps your workspace has switched on. On the demo account these are Canva and Fal. The … button next to the heading lets you sort them.
  9. Updates. Your notifications, mentions and background jobs, with a count of the ones you have not read.
  10. Credits. Your plan's name and your workspace's credit balance.
  11. The profile menu. Your account, your workspaces, the theme and the keyboard shortcuts.

Which rows you see depends on your workspace. An app your workspace has switched off, or that your role does not allow, is not shown at all.

How the apps fit together

Here is each part of Bupple in one or two sentences. The chapters linked below go into each one.

  • Superagent — Ask for the work you need done, and follow it as it happens. It can research, write, make images and videos, file things and draft posts, and it hands some jobs to specialist agents.
  • Brand Kit — Your brand's voice, look and guidelines. Everything the Superagent writes or makes for you follows it.
  • Media Library — Your files and folders, all in one place. Files you upload, and files the apps make for you, are kept here.
  • Imagine — Make an image, a video, a voice, a track or a sound effect from a prompt.
  • Video Editor — Ask for a video, get it back finished, and ask for changes.
  • Design Editor — Ask for on-brand pictures at every size, and ask for changes.
  • Posts — Plan and publish your content to your connected social accounts.
  • Campaigns — A brand's pushes toward a goal, with dates, a credit limit and the people who work on each one.
  • Automations — Jobs that draft on their own, on a schedule. You plan one in a normal chat.
  • Analytics — How your posts and accounts did: reach, interactions, clicks and the best times to post.
  • Inbox — Your direct messages and comments from your connected accounts, in one list.
  • Updates — Notifications, mentions and background jobs, newest first.
  • Settings — Workspace settings (people, roles, brands, apps and your plan) and your own account settings.

A typical week might look like this. You set up your brand once in the Brand Kit. You upload your logo and product photos to the Media Library. You ask the Superagent to plan a week of posts for a new Campaign. It writes them in your voice, makes the pictures with Imagine, and drafts the posts in Posts. You read them, change what you like and schedule them. When they go out, Analytics tells you how they did and the Inbox collects the replies.

Find anything

Press / anywhere (or click Find…) to open Find. Start typing and the results are grouped: apps, your chats, and searches you can run on the web or in the model catalog.

The Find panel with the word Posts typed in

The bottom of the panel shows the keys: the arrows move, Enter opens, and Esc closes.

Credits, in plain words

Bupple runs on credits. Your workspace has one balance that everyone in it shares. Work that costs money to run uses credits, for example a Superagent reply, a web search, a picture, a video or a voiceover.

Your balance is at the bottom of the sidebar, beside your plan's name. Click the number to see it in dollars.

The credits menu open from the bottom of the sidebar

  • 1 credit = $0.01. You only pay for what you use.
  • While a job is running, the credits it needs are set aside for work in progress. If the job fails, they come back.
  • When the balance runs low, the menu says Running low. Top up before you run out.
  • Refresh balance reads the number again.

Many paid steps show their price before they run. The Superagent asks before a paid step unless you switch on Auto-approve, and larger jobs show a price note first. The Dashboard has a Credits spent figure so you can see how fast you are using them.

Bupple has a single key for almost everything. Press ? to see them all. The keys never fire while you are typing in a box.
