Media Library

How to use the Bupple Media Library — folders and the Apps folder, uploads, search, filters, the file preview, sharing links, comments and moving files.

The Media Library is where every file in a brand lives: what you upload, and everything Bupple makes for you. Pictures from Imagine, videos from the Video Editor, files the Superagent saves and your Brand Kit logo all land here. Open it from Media Library in the sidebar, or press M. Each brand has its own library, so switch brands at the top of the sidebar to see another brand's files.

The library page

The page shows the folder you are in, its subfolders under Folders, and its files under Files. When you open a folder, a path at the top (for example Media Library › Apps) lets you step back up.

The Media Library page with folders, files and the upload area

  1. New folder makes a folder inside the folder you are viewing. Type a name and press Create. You can also double-click an empty part of the page to do the same.
  2. Select turns on select mode, so you can pick several files and folders at once. See Work on many files at once.
  3. The search box says Search names, contents and transcripts…. See Search.
  4. Choose files opens your computer's file picker. You can also drop files anywhere on the area that says Drop files to upload. Files go into the folder you are viewing. The note under it says they are uploaded directly and securely, within your plan's storage. If an upload would go over your plan's limits, the library tells you why the file was not uploaded.
  5. Apps is the folder where Bupple files what it makes. See the next section.

Click a file to open its preview. Click a folder to open it.

The Apps folder

You never have to file things Bupple makes by hand. Each part of Bupple saves its work into its own folder inside Apps.

The Apps folder with one folder per part of Bupple

What you will find there depends on what you have used. On our demo brand it holds:

  • Brand Assets — files from your Brand Kit, such as your logo.
  • Canva — designs saved back from Canva.
  • Chats — files the Superagent made or saved in a chat.
  • Generate — everything you made with Imagine.
  • Posts — media attached to your posts.
  • Video Studio — finished videos from the Video Editor.

These are normal folders. You can open, search and filter them like any other folder.

Filter and sort

The sidebar turns into the library's own panel while you are on the Media Library. At the top it shows Storage used by this brand, with the number of files. Under that are the filters. Each one narrows what the page shows. Nothing is changed or moved.

The Media Library filters: Show, Type and Source

  • Show — Everything, or only your Favorites.
  • Type — Images, Videos, Audio or Documents.
  • Source — where a file came from: Uploaded, AI generated, From URL or Imported.

The Media Library filters: Campaign, Date added, Sort and View

  • Campaign — All campaigns, or the files of one campaign. A file belongs to a campaign when you set it in the file's details (see below).
  • Date added — Any time, Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, or Custom range with a From and a To day. If nothing was added in that time, the page says No files added in this period.
  • Sort — Newest, Oldest, Name A–Z, Name Z–A, Largest or Smallest.
  • View — Grid shows thumbnails. List shows a table with a row per file.
  • Density — how many files fit across a row: Auto, 4 across, 6 across or 8 across.

Press K to jump to the search box, or click it. As you type, up to five matching files appear under the box. Use the arrow keys and Enter to open one. Press Enter without choosing, and the page shows every match.

Search looks at more than file names. It also reads what is in a file and what is said in a video or audio file. So "pricing slide" or a phrase someone said in a recording can find the file.

The file preview

Click any file to open its preview. The file fills the left side. Pictures have zoom controls and Fit under them, and you can go full screen. The right side is the file's details.

The file preview with the file on the left and its details on the right

At the top you see where you are in the list (for example 2 / 10). Use the arrows, or the left and right arrow keys, to step to the previous or next file without closing the preview. Under the name are the file's status (such as Ready), its source and its type.

  1. Favorite adds the file to your favorites. Click it again to remove it.
  2. Copy a link to this file shares the file. See Share a file.
  3. Download saves the version you are viewing to your computer.
  4. Fill the screen makes the preview bigger, with the same details beside it.
  5. More actions has Rename and Delete.
  6. Study — Study in depth looks closely at a picture, video or document: shots, pacing, sound and style, kept on the file for every feature. The button shows its price in credits before you start, and asking again later is free. A file can only be studied once it has finished processing.
  7. Campaign puts the file in a campaign, or takes it out. The file stays in the same folder.
  8. The file's sections. Click one to open it, and use the back arrow to return.

Above these you also see Created by, the Technical facts (source, type, size, dimensions or length, and when it was created and updated) and Tags. Use Add tag to tag a file. If Bupple has read the file, a Context part shows a short description and tags you can search by.

The file's sections

  • Processing — what can be done to this file, what it costs, and what already ran. For example, AI context reads the file and describes it, and Make a version saves a copy in another format, size or shape. Each one shows its price, or Free. The panel notes that nothing here runs on its own: you start each one, or your workspace admins set up rules in workspace settings.
  • Renditions — every copy the file has, such as the Original and a smaller Thumbnail. Pick the one you are viewing, or download it.
  • Used in — where this file is used across Bupple.
  • Public links — the public links made for this file. See below.
  • Generation — only on files Bupple made. It shows the model, the prompt and the settings that produced the file.
  • Transcript — only on audio and video that has one, speaker by speaker.
  • Canva and Posts — take a picture to your own Canva account, or start a post with this file attached. You only see these when they are on for your workspace.
  • Comments — notes on this file. See below.

Used in is information only. It never stops you deleting a file. If you delete a file that is used somewhere, those places are updated so they no longer point at it.

Comments

Open Comments to talk about a file with your team. Type in the box and press Comment.

The Comments section of a file, with a pinned comment on the picture

  • Pin to the file lets you click a spot on the picture, so your comment points at it. The pin shows on the file with a number.
  • Type @ to mention a teammate, a file or a post. Your teammate is told about it in Updates.
  • Type @Superagent to ask the Superagent to do something with the file. Your request joins the Agent to-do list. See Superagent.
  • Type # to point at another file. Other files your comments point at are listed under the Comments row.

Share a file

The link button at the top of the preview has three choices.

The link menu with Teammates only and two kinds of public link

  • Teammates only copies a link that opens for people in your workspace.
  • Public link that expires… makes a link anyone can open without signing in, until a time you choose.
  • Public link that never expires… makes a link anyone can open until you stop sharing it.

Every public link is listed under Public links in the file's details, with when it expires and who made it. Press Stop sharing and the link stops working at once. Making public links needs permission to edit files. Without it, the two public choices are greyed out and the menu says why.

Rename, move, copy and delete

Right-click a file in the grid for its menu.

The right-click menu of a file

  • Select turns on select mode with this file already picked.
  • Rename changes the file's name.
  • Move… opens a folder browser. Open the folder you want and press Move here.
  • Duplicate makes a copy in the same folder.
  • Favorite adds it to your favorites.
  • Delete asks first. If nothing else uses the file, the dialog says so. If something does, it lists where. Deleting removes the file from every place that has it, and it cannot be undone.

Folders have Select, Rename, Move… and Delete. A folder has to be empty before you can delete it. Deleting a folder never deletes what is inside it.

Work on many files at once

Press Select at the top of the page. Each file and folder gets a round check. Click the ones you want, or press on an empty part of the grid and drag a box over them. A bar appears at the bottom.

Select mode with two files picked and the action bar at the bottom

  • Preview shows the picked files one after another, without clearing your selection.
  • Favorite, Move, Copy and Delete do the same as for one file, for every file you picked.
  • Process runs one kind of processing over all of them. It shows what it will cost and what it will skip before anything starts.
  • Clear unpicks everything. Press Done at the top to leave select mode.

Good to know

The Superagent can do the same work for you. Ask it to "tidy my Media Library", find a file, tag files or move them, and it uses the library the same way you do.

  • Imagine — make pictures, video, speech, music and sound effects that land in your library.
  • Brand Kit — the brand files the library keeps in Apps › Brand Assets.
