Superagent

How to work with the Superagent chat in Bupple — the message box, its tools, the agents it hands work to, approvals, credits and the Agent to-do list.

The Superagent is the chat at the center of Bupple. You ask for work in your own words, and it does it with the rest of the platform: it reads your Brand Kit, searches the web, writes posts, makes pictures and videos, files things in your Media Library and drafts posts for you. Open it from Superagent in the sidebar. Every chat belongs to the brand you have selected at the top of the sidebar.

The start screen

A new chat opens on a short start screen. The heading reads Anything you can do on this platform, I can do for you. Just ask. Under it are a few ready-made requests to start from.

The Superagent start screen with the sidebar, starter cards and message box

  1. New chat starts a fresh conversation. Your earlier chats are listed under Recent. Use Search chats to find one by name, and the campaign filter (All campaigns) to see only one campaign's chats. Each chat in the list has a menu with Rename and Delete.
  2. Agent to-do opens the list of requests your team left for the Superagent in file comments (more on this below).
  3. The starter cards are Audit my brand, Tidy my Media Library, Research a topic and Plan a week of posts. Clicking one fills the message box with its request. Nothing is sent until you press send, so you can change the words first. Research a topic stops mid-sentence so you can add your topic.
  4. See what I can do opens a window of examples grouped by area: Research, Writing, Images, video and sound, Your files, Your brand, Posting, Inbox, Analytics and More. Each one has a sentence you could type.
  5. Auto-approve decides whether paid steps and brand changes ask you first. See Approvals and Auto-approve.
  6. The message box. Type your request and press send.

The message box

The message box says Ask anything, or attach a file from Media Library…. The row under it holds every setting for the chat.

The Superagent message box and the controls under it

  1. Attach opens your Media Library so you can pick one or more files. They show above the box, and you can remove one before you send. You can also send files with no text at all, for example to ask "what is in this?".
  2. The model. The menu is titled Models available in this workspace and groups models by company. Each model shows its rate in credits per million tokens, and one is marked Default. The menu notes that these rates are a guide — you pay what each reply actually costs. Which models you see depends on your workspace.
  3. The thinking level — Default, Low, Medium or High. Default lets the model decide how much to think. Deeper thinking is slower and costs more. A model that cannot think harder shows Not for this model.
  4. The chat's tools (the gear button). See the next section.
  5. The campaign. Pick a campaign to put this chat in it, or choose New campaign…. In an open chat the change saves at once. In a new chat it is held until your first message. What the chat already made stays where it is.
  6. Send. While the Superagent is answering, this becomes Stop generating.

Turn tools on or off for one chat

The gear button opens Tools this chat may use: Web Search, Link Reader and Social Reader. Each says Uses credits. Hover the small i to read what the tool does and what it costs. For example, Web Search says each search uses 1 to 4 credits, depending on how it searches.

The chat tools menu with Web Search, Link Reader and Social Reader switched on

The switches apply to this chat only. In an open chat they save at once, and the next message is the first one they apply to. In a new chat they ride along with your first message. If your workspace or Bupple has turned a tool off, its row is shown off and cannot be switched on.

What the Superagent can do for you

You do not need special words. Describe the result you want. Some examples of what it can do:

  • Research. Search the web, read any public web page, or read a social post (its details and what is said in it).
  • Writing. Posts, captions, ideas and plans, in your brand's voice from your Brand Kit.
  • Images, video and sound. Make images, short video clips, voiceovers, music and sound effects with Imagine, and finished, edited videos with the Video Editor. It can also make and change designs with the Design Editor.
  • Your files. Find, organize, tag, rename and comment on files, and read what a file says or shows.
  • Posting. Draft and schedule posts. A drafted post appears in the chat as a card with Open, Schedule and Publish. Publishing is always your click, and Bupple asks Publish this post now? before it goes out.
  • Inbox and Analytics. Read your DMs and comments, draft replies for you to approve, and tell you how your posts did and when to post.
  • Automations. Plan a job that runs on its own. See Automations.

Where the results go

Files the Superagent makes are saved to your Media Library, in the Apps › Chats folder, inside a folder for the app that made them. A picture also shows right in the chat.

It hands work to specialists

For some jobs the Superagent passes the work to a specialist agent, such as the Brand Agent, the Posts Agent or the Media Library Agent. You see this in the chat as a card.

A chat where the Superagent hands work to the Brand Agent and then searches the Media Library

  1. Delegated to names the specialist and shows what it wrote back. Click the arrow to open the card.
  2. A tool step shows which tool ran, its status and any file it found.

Long jobs run in the background

A picture, voiceover, music track or sound effect is made while you watch. If it takes longer than a minute, it moves to the background on its own. You can also press Run in background before that. Background work is listed in the chat's Background jobs panel, so you can keep talking while it finishes.

Approvals and Auto-approve

With Auto-approve off, the Superagent asks before it does anything that costs credits (a web search, a page read, a transcript) or changes your brand. The question appears above the message box.

An approval card above the message box asking to read a web page

The card says what the step will cost, what it will run on, and when it was asked. A question never expires, so it can still be waiting when you come back tomorrow.

  1. Decline tells the Superagent to find another way.
  2. Approve runs the step, and the Superagent carries on from there.
  3. Auto-approve on means paid steps and brand updates just happen and you are told. It is your own setting in this workspace. Nobody else can change it for you.

A brand change shows the field, its value now and the value proposed. Approving saves it to the brand as a new version you can undo. Declining leaves the brand as it is.

Credits and price notes

Every reply and every paid step uses credits from your workspace.

  • The model menu shows each model's rate, and approval cards show the price of the step.
  • A finished video or a design is a larger job. It needs at least 4,000 credits in the workspace to start.
  • If the workspace does not have enough credits, the message does not run. The chat says how many credits are left and how many the message needs.

Your balance is shown at the bottom of the sidebar.

Leave while it works

You do not have to wait on the page. If you leave before the answer is finished, the Superagent keeps going and saves the answer in the chat. When it is ready you get a notice in Updates that says Your answer is ready, with the chat's name. Click it to open the chat.

Comments on a chat

Every open chat has a Comments button above the message box. It opens a side panel where you can discuss the chat with your team. You can @ a teammate, a file or a post. Comments never reach the conversation.

A chat belongs to the person who started it. If a teammate opens your chat, they can read it and comment, and the message box is replaced by Only (your name) can write in this chat with a Continue in my own copy button.

The Agent to-do list

Anyone on your team can ask the Superagent for a change by tagging @Superagent in a comment on a file in the Media Library. Those requests collect in Agent to-do.

The Agent to-do page with three files and their requests

Open Agent to-do under New chat in the sidebar. Requests are grouped per file, with who asked and when.
Tick a whole file, or single requests.
Press Start (it shows how many you picked, like Start 2). Each file gets its own chat, which runs in the background.

A request being worked on shows Working on it. When a file is done it leaves the list, and the person who pressed Start is told in Updates. With nothing to do, the page says Nothing to do. Tag @Superagent in a comment on a file to ask for a change.

  • Automations — turn a request you make every week into a job that runs on its own.
  • Brand Kit — what the Superagent reads to write in your voice.
