Getting set up
How to sign in to Bupple, work through the Get set up steps on the Dashboard, switch workspace and brand, and read the Dashboard itself.
This chapter covers your first hour in Bupple: signing in, setting up your first brand, and the Get set up steps on the Dashboard that walk you through the rest. It also shows how to switch between brands and workspaces, and how to read the Dashboard once your brand is up and running. The Dashboard is the first row in the sidebar, and it is where Bupple opens.
Signing in
Open Bupple and sign in with your email address and password. If a teammate invited you, the invitation email has an Accept your invite button. It takes you to the sign-up screen with your address already filled in. Sign up with that same address, and you join their workspace.
Your first brand
A brand-new workspace starts on a full-screen page called Create your first brand. It says Start from your website and we'll set it up for you. Your first website import is free. You have three ways in:
- Start with your website (marked Recommended). Type your site's address, for example
yourbrand.com, and press Continue. Bupple reads your site and drafts your brand from it. - Just use a name. Create an empty brand and fill it in later.
- Set up manually. Add details, a logo and references yourself.

There is a Skip button at the top right. Skipping asks Skip brand setup? and starts you with a default brand you can edit anytime. You are not locked out of the import: the Set up your brand step on the Dashboard brings you back to this page for as long as nobody has set the brand up.
The Get set up steps
The Dashboard greets you by name. The line under it says which brand and workspace you are looking at, for example How Halden Cloud is doing in Halden. The first time you visit it says Welcome. Once you have done a step, it says Welcome back.
Under the greeting is the Get set up strip: a short list of the first things worth doing, one card each.

- The ring fills one segment for each step you finish. Beside it you see how many are done, for example 7 of 8 done.
- The arrows scroll the strip when the steps do not fit. On a phone you swipe instead.
- The button on each card takes you to the place where you do the step.
- Done appears on a finished step. Its title is crossed out and the card fades, but it stays in its place so the order never changes.
Nobody ticks a step by hand. Each one is ticked by Bupple when the thing has really happened, so the list always tells the truth.
The steps, in order
The steps always appear in this order. Most of them belong to the brand you are in, so a second brand starts with its own ticks.
| Step | Button | Ticked when |
|---|---|---|
| Set up your brand | Set up, then Open Brand Kit | The brand you are in has been set up: imported from a website, or edited for real for the first time. |
| Upload something to your Media Library | Open Media Library | You have uploaded a file of your own to this brand. Files the apps make for you do not count. |
| Ask the Superagent for something | Open Superagent | This brand has at least one Superagent chat. |
| Connect a social account | Connect an account, then Open posts | This brand has a social account that is fully connected. A connection you started and left half-way does not count. |
| Create a campaign | Open Campaigns | This brand has at least one campaign, even a draft. |
| Set up an automation | Open Automations | This brand has at least one automation, even a draft you have not switched on. |
| Invite a teammate | Invite someone, then Open members | The workspace has a second member, or you have sent an invitation that has not expired. |
| Turn on notifications | Turn on | You have answered your browser's question about notifications, yes or no. |
A few of these have extra words when they are done:
- Invite a teammate reads Invited — waiting for them to join while your invitation has not been accepted yet.
- Turn on notifications is the only step that is not a link. Turn on asks your browser for permission right there. If you block it, the step still counts as done and reads Decided: notifications off, with a hint to turn them on in your browser's site settings. Bupple never asks twice. This step is for this browser only, so a new laptop asks again.

Why you might see fewer steps
A step only appears if you can actually do it. Bupple leaves a step out, rather than greying it, when:
- the app it points to is switched off in your workspace,
- your role does not let you do it (a Viewer, for example, cannot create a brand),
- your plan does not include it (a plan with no social accounts gets no Connect a social account step, and a one-seat plan gets no Invite a teammate step), or
- your browser cannot show notifications.
So two people in the same workspace can see different lists, and that is expected.
When every step is done
When the last step is ticked, the strip changes to You're all set and Every setup step is done. A close button (×) appears at the far right. Closing it hides the strip for everyone on this brand, not just for you.
After that, the same row can show Try more of Bupple: cards for parts of your plan that this brand has not used yet. If there is nothing left to try, the row simply goes away.
Switching brand
You always work in one brand. To change it, click the brand's name at the top of the sidebar, or press O.

- Brands lists every brand in the workspace you can see. The one you are in has a check mark. Press its number (1–9) to choose one from the keyboard.
- Add brand opens the Create a brand page shown earlier. If your workspace has reached its plan's brand limit, it is turned off and says why.
- Manage brands opens the Brands page, where you see every brand in the workspace.
- Sort brands lets you drag the brands into the order you like.
Picking another brand asks you to confirm first.

The dialog explains that the whole dashboard — the Media Library, chats, video, scheduling and everything else — switches to that brand. Press Switch brand to go, or Cancel to stay where you are.
Switching workspace
Workspaces are switched from the profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar. Click your name (or press .), then open Workspace.

- Manage workspace opens the settings of the workspace you are in.
- The list shows every workspace you belong to. The current one has a check mark.
- Add new workspace creates a new, empty workspace.
When you pick another workspace, Bupple asks Switch to …? and explains that it reloads into that workspace, with its own brands, files, members, credits and apps, and that anything unsaved on the page is lost. Press Switch workspace, or Stay here.
The same menu also holds Account (your own profile and preferences), Manage brands, Theme (light, dark or system), Shortcuts and Log out.
The Dashboard
Below the setup strip, the Dashboard shows how the brand you are in is doing. Every figure on it is about that one brand.

- The period. For example Sep 17 – Oct 16, against the 30 days before. Every change you see (+6%, −17%) compares this period with the one before it. Beside it, Updated says when the numbers were last read, and Next update says when the next free update is due.
- Refresh now · 1 credit reads the newest numbers from your social accounts straight away. Each refresh that works costs 1 credit. You do not need it: the numbers also update on their own several times a day at no cost. It is only shown when the brand has a connected account.
- 7 days, 30 days, 90 days changes the period. 30 days is the default.
Under the period you see:
- Impressions — the big chart. How many times this brand's posts were seen each day, its total, and its change.
- Interactions, Clicks, Posts published and Credits spent — four smaller figures, each with its change and a small trend line.
- Impressions by network — which networks the views came from, as a ring chart, with your connected accounts listed under it.
- Top posts — the posts published in the period, ranked by interactions.
- Posts per day — one bar for each day a post went out.
Click a card's arrow to open the matching page, such as Analytics or Posts. If one card cannot load, it says so inside that card with a way to try again, and the rest of the page still works.
No social account yet?
A brand with no connected account has no views to show. The big chart shows the credits you spent instead, and the other cards say Connect an account to see this, with a link. You never see a row of made-up zeroes.
Next and new
At the bottom, Next and new collects what is coming up and what came in.

- Next posts — the next scheduled posts and when they go out, plus the last post that was published.
- Recent chats — your latest Superagent chats in this brand. Click one to open it.
- Mentions and messages — mentions you have not opened yet, and how many messages are unread in your social inbox.
- Latest notifications — your newest updates. Unread ones have a dot.
The footer line counts the brand's active campaigns, its active automations, and the files in its Media Library with their total size.
